Has anyone tried soaking the piece in some Goo Gone solution for a few minutes to get rid of the goo left behind from tapes? If no, what do you guys think about the idea?

Desolvit works the best and is much easier on the unit. Just ordered a gallon of contractors from Amazon for $40.

I never understood how some care so much about alcohol in their hair products, but yet will soak the piece in solvents. Do you guys worry about the damage the chemicals will do to the hair? I never round it necessary to do this. U just put the solvent on the spot u need to clean, let it sit for a few minutes, when it starts to break down you do the mirror slide.

Gents I find any oil on the base makes for a bad attachemnt. I just release with 99% and spritz that on the base and wipe with strong paper towell. I use PURE on my head to get rid of residue but I have been using tape all the way around for the past few months. JMHO.
